Rob Gronkowski’s status for Week 4 has been up in the air for the past few days due to a rib injury. On Saturday, the NFL world received an unfortunate update on the All-Pro tight end.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without Gronkowski for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
Gronkowski was listed as doubtful on Friday, but Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said Gronkowski was more of a game-time decision.
We’d imagine Gronkowski did everything in his power to be ready for this game, especially since the Buccaneers are taking on the Patriots. He’d love nothing more than to have a “Gronk spike” at Gillette Stadium on Sunday Night Football.
Earlier this week, ESPN insider Jordan Schultz reported that Tampa Bay would have Gronkowski available for Sunday’s game. However, his condition most likely never improved over the course of the week.
